Restaurants I like
Below is a selection of restaurants that I like (no particular order). I am no food critic so I will keep it simple: type of food, brief description, price range and date of last visit.Edinburgh, United Kingdom
- Fishers in the City. Excellent sea food restaurant. Expensive, but doesn't disappoint. 58 Thistle Street. http://www.fisherbistros.co.uk. Last visit: September'09.
- The New Bell. Scottish cuisine, excellent meats (including game). Expensive. 233-235 Causewayside. http://www.thenewbell.com. Last visit: Jan'10.
- The Mosque Kitchen. Nice curries and middle eastern food. Not a proper restaurant but more of a very unpretentious buffet (to put it mildly). Cheap. 50 Potterrow (adjacent to the Mosque).
- Petit Paris. Good french food. Average Price. 38-40 Grassmarket. http://www.petitparis-restaurant.co.uk/. Last visit: May'10
Wallonia, Belgium
- Le Saint Hadelin. Belgian cuisine from the Wallonia region inside a renovated stone house. Mid range. Route de Neufchateau 21 - 5561 Celles (Houyet). Visited once in February'09.
Fez, Morocco
- Le Riad Maison Bleue. Traditional moroccan cuisine, considered one of the best places in town (and rightly so). Expensive. 33 Derb Miter Talaa Kebira Ain Zliten Fes-Medina. http://www.maisonbleue.com. Visited once in December'08.
Austin, Texas, USA
- Finn & Porter. Best steaks in town, period. Expensive. 500 East 4th Street, Austin, Texas (Inside the Hilton Hotel). Visited one in June'09.
Braunschweig, Germany
- Saz. Great turkish family-run restaurant. Cheap to Mid range. Am Neuen Petritore 7, 38100 Innenstadt, Braunschweig. Visited twice in March and May'09.
